Dr. S. Krishna Kumar completed his medicine at the Madurai Medical College in the year 1981, and post graduation in Orthopaedics from JIPMER, Pondicherry in the year 1987.
He has travelled across the globe, disseminating his knowledge and experience to those who need it and updating himself on the latest techniques and methods in the field.
He is a faculty in many national and international forum.

It would have been a natural progression for anyone of such high caliber and lofty educational qualifications to travel far and wide, and make a mark for himself, across the globe. But Dr. S. Krishna Kumar happened to be a human being of far more meaningful aspirations, as his heart was in his hometown Nagercoil, where he wished to put his knowledge to optimum use. With this noble cause in mind, in the year 1987 he made Nagercoil his base and started his career as an orthopaedic surgeon in the private sector.
KKOH is aptly situated in a land seeped in immense scenic beauty, which provides an instant sense of tranquility, a vital requisite for a speedy recovery. The hospital was started with a mission to provide the latest techniques in Orthopaedic and trauma care management for the people of TamilNadu and the world over,to ensure early and complete cure to the best of one’s capabilities.
This respectable institution at Nagercoil, within a span of 20 years, has grown into a massive structure with all modern facilities, setting standards for others to follow. This is the only hospital in the south of TamilNadu, dedicated to Orthopaedics. The hospital acquired the ISO certification ISO 9001: 2000 from Bureau Veritage Quality International in the year 2002 and upgraded the certification to 9001- 2008 in March 2010. In the year 2003 the hospital got accredited to the National Board of Examination to train post graduates in the Orthopaedic discipline. Therefore today the hospital multitasks as an institute of post graduate education.

The regular operation theatre complex has built up area of 5000 sq.feet with 4 seperate operating room. Our infection rate in clean cases is nil for the past 2 years.

The Institute is headed by Dr. S. Krishna Kumar, who is the Director and Senior Orthopaedic surgeon. He was instrumental in bringing world class Orthopaedic health care to India at an affordable cost.

The department of physiotherapy forms the backbone of collateral services for any orthopaedic services. The physiotherapy department of KKOH has a spacious interior, modern equipment, and above all a dedicated team. The team leader who is the senior physiotherapist have a vast experience in the field and is extremely reliable.
The department of radiology is equipped with the stationary, mobile X-ray machines, orthopan tomogram and computerised radiography.
The department of clinical laboratory coupled with skill and modern gadgets, the laboratory gives accurate results. A blood bank will be started soon making the laboratory services complete.
Dr. P. Ananda Krishnan is the senior anesthesiologist, patients are in safe hands under his care. The medical records department is fully computerised with OP and IP case sheets stored as soft copy. The department of information technology is unique that we have tailor made software for each department.
