Nephrology is an adjutant service in trauma care and orthopaedics.
Injury can involve the abdomen causing injury to the kidney or the related structures.
Renal dysfunction as such is a major health problem today.
Many elderly patients, have multiple comorbidities, may also have renal dysfunction. A standby renal unit is necessary when treating these patients operating on these patients run the risk of them going for renal shut down. Keeping this in mind, the nephrology department was started in 2024.
We have started with one dialyzing machine. We will increase the number depending on the requirement. Dr. Siva D.M is managing the department of Nephrology.
Dialysis is done for certain categories of patients “at cost” basis.
